On a related note: A Southern California restaurant chain’s burger of the month is called the ‘Merica burger. It is made of 100 percent ground bacon. And it is topped with bacon. Just reading about it makes my face feel greasy.
My favorite part of the story, by my U-T San Diego colleague Lori Weisberg:

Because it is a chain with just three locations (two in Orange County, one in San Diego), Slater’s is not required by law to post the burger’s calorie count. Maybe that’s just as well.
