Filming of “The Stuntman” at the La Jolla Childrens Pool
San Diego, Ca 1978
That was a good movie. I didn’t know it was filmed here.

Tell me please. That’s what I want for my birthday.
1. Deep dish at Lefty’s in North Park.
2. Thin crust at Bronx Pizza in Hillcrest.
3. Anything at Filippi’s in Little Italy. (If you like a ton of cheese, this is your pizza.)
And if you want fancy, fairly expensive pizza, have the White Room at Alexander’s in North Park.
Enjoy your birthday!

Fashion Kiss, the first of my own photos that I’ve posted in a few weeks. See it larger at my photoblog, The Occasional Odd Crop.
They are watching.
A Google image search told me that this is “The California Trip,” a 1968 photo by Magnum photographer Dennis Stock.

Pictures of His Holiness the Dalai Lama wearing a visor or ballcap always make me smile. And he’s in San Diego this time, so it’s doubly cool.

A few shots from Opening Day at Petco Park
The Padres have a tumblelog? Nice!
(There’s just one post on it, but the season’s young.)

‘Jackin’ It in San Diego’
South Park’s ode to KONY 2012 director Jason Russell’s naked rampage through San Diego.
Hahaha!
Oh, that is just wrong. It is sick, and it is wrong.
Also, I had to wait a few seconds after the video ended before I could type this. Needed to stop laughing first.
Also also, nice job depicting those San Diego landmarks, people of “South Park”!
James Turrell’s light environments are to be experienced. He prefers us not describe them, but they’re so compelling they trigger all sorts of reactions. What is your first impression?

These lights create quite the illusion. When I was in this room, I had to stick my head through the blue rectangle before I was sure the hole wasn’t covered with a piece of blue plexiglass. It wasn’t.
Banksy and Tag on Flickr.
I haven’t been very active on Tumblr or other social media sites for a couple of weeks, and the little guy on the right is the reason. Tag, a poodle/Doberman mix, is about 10 weeks old, and something of a handful. For the first few days we had him, I thought he was made of fur, urine and teeth.
Things have improved, and I can now see the excellent dog he will eventually become. He and Banksy still “fight” a lot, but it seems more like rough play now than a battle for dominance.
